Eating Out - Without the Kids

I’m sure there’s another way of describing going to a really nice restaurant, but most of these places, seriously, enjoy yourself, leave the kids at home (or use your hotel’s babysitting services).

Renatos.JPGThis is one of the first really nice restaurants I went to with my husband (then boyfriend) and his grandparents. The food is incredible. As Nacho Libre says, I need my “stretchy pants.” I have a standing request to be taken here for my anniversary and birthday (the fact that they’re just a month apart is irrelevant). The food’s Italian by the way. They’re in Via Mizner in Palm Beach. At night during the season they have valet parking on Worth.

This restaurant is one of the better restaurants in Palm Beach. I always get the steak. My friend who I go with a lot always gets some sort of seafood, I’m usually not paying attention because I’m thinking about my steak. Anyway, whatever you get it going to be great. The restaurant in on N. County but you have to turn onto Sunset and then turn into a parking lot and it looks like you’re going in the back. They make you work for it I guess.

I haven’t been here since they moved locations (and they’ve been on County south of Royal Palm Way for forever so it’s been a while) but I remember over eating (I seem to do that a lot but really that’s a big rec’ for me). I don’t know much about the menu but they’re supposed to be great.

I didn’t know whether I should put this in the “fancy” category or not. It’s a very nice restaurant but I feel very comfortable taking the kids. The food is delicious. The steak, rotisserie chicken, hot dog, heirloom tomato salad, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes - these are all things I’ve had. The desserts are great too. The other day I went and had a caesar salad, heirloom tomato salad and deviled eggs. Weird but good. Oh, you have to try the fries too - you’ll eat more than you want to. The reason you can bring the kids is because it can sometimes be noisy. Some people may mind that, especially if you have hearing problems, but the food is really worth it. They’re on Royal Poinciana just east of the bridge. Where Au Bar used to be if you’re interested in local history.

This restaurant is owned by Spoto’s. I’ve been here twice. Once for lunch, when I actually did bring one of the kids, the other time for dinner. The ambiance of this place is great although I haven’t actually gotten to sit in the area that I wanted to because it’s always so packed. When I went for lunch I had a salad with sliced steak on it. It was delicious.
