One of the most important things to find when you go to a place is a good place to eat (forget a good doctor - who gets sick anyway). I don't have a problem with going to national food stores (as evidenced by the fact that I go to Publix every other day) but I really love finding local places that have great food. I just realized that whenever someone tells me where they're from, if I've been there, I immediately blurt out my favorite restaurants in that place. Like, Ft. Worth is Joe T. Garcia's. New York is Daily Soup. Austin is Chuy's. Birmingham is Cafe Bottega. Is it a gift or a curse?

Just thought of some more:  Snuffer's is Dallas; Dugan's Pub is Brevard, NC; Superior Grill is Shreveport, LA;  Mother Merle's is Dundas Town, Marsh Harbor, Bahamas
